Red Hat Linux 9 introduces Native POSIX Thread Library and includes OpenOffice.org office suite, Mozilla web browser, Ximian Evolution email client, CUPS for printing, and upgraded core components including Linux kernel 2.4.20, GCC 3.2.1, GNU libc 2.3, and Apache 2.0 web server software. Red Hat Linux 9 would be the last major version of Red Hat Linux, as the focus for rapid innovation and cutting-edge development shifted to the Fedora Project.
