Red Hat Network debuts
Red Hat Network became a part of Red Hat’s service offerings beginning in December of 2000. Red Hat Network offered an update management service that kept systems secure and functioning during rapid open source development cycles. It provided security evaluations, notification and analysis services, a web-based management interface, and tight integration with RPM (for installation and dependency management) and support services. Red Hat Network was made available to all Red Hat Linux 7 customers on a free trial basis from September 26-December 31, 2000.
