IBM pledges $1 billion to Linux

IBM's Lou Gerstner said that IBM "is convinced that Linux can do for business applications what the Internet did for networking and communications."Gerstner and VP of technology Irving Wladawsky Berger announced at the eBusiness Conference and Expo in New York that IBM had spend about $1 billion on Linux development and promotion, and that they expected that amount to grow in 2001.
