The Red Hat Healthcare Team Returns From HIMSS08
March 6, 2008
by Healthcare Team
The Red Hat healthcare team is back from a tremendously busy HIMSS08. Hundreds of customers stopped by our booth, many of whom were surprised to see us at HIMSS. We had a lot of positive feedback from our customers when we told them about our focus on healthcare, the tremendous adoption by ISVs and the growing momentum behind open source. One technology that generated a particular amount of interest was our MetaMatrix Enterprise Data Services Platform, which can present a single, real-time, read/write view of different data sources. Providers are looking to MetaMatrix to help address challenges around unifying scattered, distributed databases with different data models.
We also met many of our ISV partners, and it was satisfying to hear about the many different solutions that use Red Hat in healthcare to provide world-class reliability. Sentillion‘s flagship product Vergence uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux to achieve a consistent 99.999% uptime rating for identity and access management technology. Another company that has partnered closely with us is CPSI. CPSI has also achieved outstanding reliability using Enterprise Linux as the infrastructure for their clinical systems. We heard similar stories from dozens of other software partners and customers.
The healthcare team will be back in Orlando at the end of March for InterSystems DEVCON2008. Look for us there.
