Red Hat Hosts Golf Tournament to Support Wounded Veterans
October 2, 2012
Red Hat Public Sector Team
Giving back is an essential part of what Red Hat does, whether we’re referring to the open source community, or the broader communities in which we live and work. Yesterday, our Public Sector team hosted a charity golf tournament in Rockville, Md. to benefit wounded veterans through the Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA), an organization that provides the game of golf as a rehabilitative avenue for American veterans injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dubbed “The Red Hat Invitational,” the golf tournament was an opportunity for us to connect with our Public Sector partners and systems integrators and to give back to a very important cause. We were also proud to have the support of Dell as an event sponsor.
The event was a great success, with 145 attendees including systems integrators ATT, BAE, CACI, CenturyLink, CSC, General Dynamics, LMCO, L3, Raytheon and YottaStor. Several wounded warriors joined us at the tournament, and as a testament to the strength of our partner ecosystem, several of Red Hat’s Public Sector partners, including Carahsoft, DLT, Emergent, Intel and Shadow-Soft, joined us to support the event and SMGA.
Here’s to another great event next year!
