Red Hat's Lee Congdon Named One of Computerworld's Premier IT 100 Leaders
December 5, 2012
People Team
Computerworld Magazine released its list of the 2013 Premier IT 100 Leaders, and Lee Congdon, Red Hat CIO and vice president of IT, was named among the honorees. The Computerworld Premier IT 100 Award, complemented by the Premier 100 Conference, is now in its fourteenth year and honors individuals who have positively impacted their organization through technology.
Lee was a standout applicant as he discussed important technological infrastructure decisions Red Hat has made to support its company growth, allowing customers to more effectively manage their Red Hat subscriptions, and facilitate internal compliance and upgrades. Lee discussed the importance of his Information Technology team as it acts as not only a beacon for deploying open source solutions, but also holds a unique perspective as the “first customer” for the Red Hat product team as the team deploys Red Hat’s own operating system, virtualization, middleware, storage and cloud products in support of internal applications.
Lee was also recognized for one of his ongoing projects, an open source telephony system designed to lead the next generation of communications within Red Hat. The telephony system incorporates open source solutions, such as a VoIP based integrated communication platform, into yet another aspect of Red Hat’s office culture. The project has already been deployed to four office sites and supports a variety of software and hardware clients.
Red Hat is proud to congratulate Lee Congdon, a member of the 2013 Computerworld Premier IT 100.
