Red Hat appoints new VP EMEA to target enterprise Linux migration

Federico Musto will be heading a European team focused on sales and support for Unix to Linux migration in the enterprise market. "Enterprises across Europe are now beyond the point of considering Linux, they're actually deploying it," said Federico Musto, vice president of EMEA at Red Hat. "As more enterprises migrate their IT infrastructures to Linux platforms, they expect the best technology coupled with unbeatable service and support. I'm excited to be taking on this new role within Red Hat to lead the European team at such an important moment in the evolution of Linux in the enterprise market."

"Federico has a track record of succesful enterpreneurship, most recently as general manager of Red Hat Italy, which he quickly established as the number one Linux vendor in that country. With him we'll expand our leading role in Europe."

Federico brings to his new role with Red Hat over 10 years of experience working with Linux. His experience ranges from research and consultancy roles within start-up companies through to multi-billion dollar organisations. He has a Business Administration degree from the University of Milan and a graduate degree in Computer Science from New York University. Before joining Red Hat, Federico founded Sistemi Research Laboratories, and joined Red Hat following their acquisition.
