Red Hat Expands RHCE Training to New Cities in North America

New Facilities Expand Availability of Well-Known RHCE Training and Certification Program, the Only Performance-Based OS Certification

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC—January 17, 2001—Red Hat, Inc., the leader in developing, deploying and managing open source solutions for Internet infrastructure, announced today the expanded availability of its well-known RHCE training and certification program, as well as other Red Hat training offerings. Red Hat training is now available in facilities in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, New York City, Salt Lake City, Toronto, Canada and Washington D.C., in addition to the previously announced locations of San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Durham, NC.

"These new locations extend Red Hat's training and certification programs to more cities, giving our customers greater access right where they live and work," said Peter Childers, vice president Red Hat Global Learning Services. "IT professionals and their employers have recognized the value and consistency of the RHCE Program, as well as our commitment to providing the highest quality programs on Linux systems administration, open source applications and development."

RHCEs must pass a performance-based exam that tests actual competencies in Linux systems and network administration on live computer equipment. Established in January of 1999, the RHCE program is the oldest Red Hat Linux certification curriculum and the only performance-based certification program for any OS.

Over 10,000 people have taken an official Red Hat training course in the RHCE track. More than 4000 students have taken the RHCE Exam, and 2500 have received RHCE certification.
