Rebuilding Red Hat Linux 9

I am trying to rebuild the RHL 9 discs, but when I run buildinstall, I 
keep getting these errors:

gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

I've seen these before while building the boot.img files, but I even get 
the error while building hdstg.img.

I tried building while booted into the BOOT kernel, but I keep getting 
these errors.  Any suggestions?
