creating a Boot Cd with 2.6.8 kernel?

Hi all!

 I need the 2.6.8 Kernel during the install of Fedora Core 2. All the Howtos i
found use the standard Install-Kernel placed in isolinux/vmzlinuz with the 
isolinux/initrd.img.

 How can i compile and generate a kernel and a initrd in the 2.6.8 version?
