How does anaconda probe the scsi hard disk, smp, hugememory while installing linux

Hi,
I am regular linux user. I am having a problem in finding how does anaconda probe the underlying scsi hard disk, cpu with smp, hugememory, dual port network device of a computer while installing linux.
please reply if anybody knows the answer.
