Logical volume resizing

To follow up on yesterday's partition resizing patches, I've now got an
additional set of patches on top which add support for resizing logical
volumes as well.  The first is a bit of an infrastructure thing and more
in line with the main resizing series and then there's a patch for the 
backend and one for the UI.
