Hi,
Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but it concerns both DU 3.2 and linux.
I've been trying to boot linux on an AS 200, which already has DU 3.2 on it. I
have an external drive to put it on. Well, after lots of trouble, including a
kernel recompile and a firmware update, I got to the redhat installation.
By this time, I was a little inattentive and managed to overwrite the partition
table of the OSF/1 boot drive! ("The partition table on /dev/sda is corrupt.
Do you want to initialize it?"). Why is initializing the default, btw? After
many hours in front of a screen, an "a" looks like a "c". Aaaaaargh!!
Anyway, is there any way to get this drive back to the way it was? I have
access to another linux/alpha machine, as well as another OSF/1 machine, if
that helps.
Man, I feel dumb.
Thanks enormously for any help!
