Maybe true, but it doesn't stop there.  I've never (that I recall) had to
explicitly say "iso9660" when mounting a CD, under Intel or Alpha (well,
okay, maybe back in the 1.2 days, but not recently).  And I obviously
don't have an fstab entry for /mnt/tmp as a CD...

Suppose I could coax you into sendmail me your .config?  What kernel?  I
assume you're not doing this with loadable modules...
