My AS200 4/166 died! When you turn it on, it just does the 1-1-4 beep
code and stops. The book says this code means there was a failure reading
the SROM code. I tried moving the jumper to load SROM off a floppy, but
it never tried to boot the floppy! (I'm assuming this is suppose to work
the same way it does on the UDBs.) The same thing: turn on, give beep
code, stop. Any ideas? (Yes, I already tried changing the battery, which
I now know was nowhere near to cause of the problem!) I'm gathering the
DROM is dead, but that leaves an interesting problem...how do you replace
it, since the DROM is normally what you use to recover from failure!?!
TIA
