Just for the record - the above is not entirely correct.  Once set
with both consoles your basic boot looks the same: you type "b" :-)
or you boot automatically.

The main differences are:
  - your board came with one type of a console and you have to pay
    to get another one (especially if the another one is SRM :-)
  - if you boot from ARC then your disk should be partitioned
    using "MSDOS style" partition table; with SRM you need do that
    with a help of "BSD style disk label" (option "b" in 'fdisk')
  - so far for UX boards SRM option does not exist.

Other than that differences are really minor.
