New kernel 2.1.130 problems?

Hello,

I'm considering trying the new 2.1.130 kernel. It is my understanding 
that older kernels required Alpha patches in order to work on Alpha 
machines. Does this new kernel still require those patches? 

Or basically, if I download this kernel and compile it (assuming 
configured correctly), will it work? Or do I have to fix a few things 
before I can get it to work on my Alpha/Miata machine? If I need to make 
some fixes, where do I find them? What are the experiences so far with 
the 2.1.130 kernel on Alphas?
