I have figured out the clock problem, at least on my LX164. I have
installed the clock-pc164-rh50 from digital. I edited /etc/sysconfig/clock
to UTC=true and ARC=true. I then set the correct UTC time, date and year in
AlphaBIOS. The key here for me was the -A option to clock. I now boot
with the correct year.
