EtherExpress 16 and 2.1.xxx kernels

Hi,

I use a axppci33 (noname) with RH5.1. The ISA-network ard etherexpress
16 works flawlessly with the 2.0.x series of kernels, but when I want to
use the latest development kernels e.g. 2.1.130 the initialization of
the card fails:

eexpress: 82586 failed self-test
eexpress: CU didn't stop
eexpress: 82586 failed self-test

The card itself is successfully recognized at boot time:

eexpress: EtherExpress 16 at 0x300 irq 5

Any ideas on that?
