RE: Compiling and kernels



Well I found the problem, I had already looked at the man pages, (I had
none) and the Kernel-HOWTO before I wrote to the list.  A long time ago I
had made a shell script called patch.  This was to fix a few problems with
a fortran program I had ported.  My stock redhat 5.1 system had never HAD
GNU's patch on it. 

I got the patch rpm and installed it, now patch works much better instead
of just saying "Patch succeeded" which my little script did :) I actually
see everything I'm supposed to :)

I'll compile a kernel and well see what happens :)
