sound blaster doesn't work properly

I have a 164SX with 533 MHz workstation and I just installed a Sound Blaster 64
in it.
I have some problems to make it work fine :

        I intalled the drivers that comes with the service pack 3
        the system sounds like "chords.wav" and others sounds fine
        but when I run Quake 2 or any Video CD, there are only
        noises that comes periodically.
        Any other sound but system's ones have the same behaviour.

If someone could help me, please.
