This is a AlphaStation 200 4/166 and I still can't get it to work. After
searching the "alpha-osf-managers-archive", I found an answer from "Lukas
Rosenthaler <rosenth@foto.chemie.unibas.ch>" (although is is a Digital
Unix, I suppose that it could be the same problem):
Hello, thanks to all that answered my question about bidirectional
use of the integral parallel port of a DEC AXP 400 4/233:
It is not yet possible to use this port as a bidirectional parallel
port. It may be in a future release (after Digital Unix 4.0...).
Special thanks to Dr. Tom Blinn who could give me the definitive
answer!!
In the meantime I solved the routing problems, but it seems that the
parallel port is not correctly adressed. After unsuccessful "ping'ing"
for half an hour, I still get
# cat /proc/interrupts
1: 209760 keyboard
5: 0 plip0
Did you use the internal parallel port?
