Hello!!
I have an Alpha Station 255 running RH 5.0 with 2.0.30 kernel.
Can anybody tell me how to patch the stock kernel properly in order to
install em86??
I've downloaded the alpha-patches from ftp.digital.com , then
did the patch :
$$gunzip < alpha-patches... | patch -p1
and got a bunch of failed hunks , and then wasn't able to compile the
kernel at all (there was some file missing)
Another question:
when running make xconfig (without patching previously), in the "general
setup" window there is an option "Kernel support for Linux/Intel ELF
binaries". Does it have anything to do with em86, and does it mean that
if I say "yes", I'll actually be able to run Linux/Intel
binaries(Netscape & so on)??
Thanks a lot,
Alex
