You can try http://www.starshipcorp.com I think they sell floppy drives for
the mutlia for about $30 or so.  Also, if you are lucky and have an old
laptop that you want to gut 9 times out of 10 those floppy drives will work
in the multia ( I got two of my drives that way).   In answer to your first
question you WILL need a floppy drive in the UDB (universal desktop box is
the name given to the multia when it is running linux).  You can try
working with out it but it might be a pain in the butt.  RH5 should install
fine with the remote NFS mount, although I have attempted an install like
that with little success, I imagine if you pursue it a little further you
should get somewhere.
