I have a tripwire binary which works with RH4.2. I cannot remember whether
I compiled it on a Digital UNIX machine and just use it on the Linux
box, or if I compiled it natively on the linux box. Either way, it
seems to work.
HOWEVER, I had to "port" tripwire to 64-bit, to get rid of all
the annoying "unaligned access" messages. Can't remember everything
I did. I posted the patches to usenet: I don't know if anyone
is still maintaining tripwire.
I have the source code around still, I can give it to you and you
can compare it with the version on ftp.cert.org to see what I did,
if you want.
Actually, I've put the source code on my ftp site:
ftp://ptsg.eecs.berkeley.edu/pub/incoming/peterm/tripwire-1.2.1.tar.gz
