Linux doesn't work on Alpha Multia with different ram speed?

Hello..
Just wonder
but when I added the 60 ns parity ram to the existing
70 ns parity.. Linux failed to boot..
I remove all the old 70 ns parity and it work normally.
It looks like Linux doesn't want two type of speeds.

Anyone deal with this kind of problem?
NT4 works nice with both speed on,
but Linux Alpha kernel 2.0.30 (from Red Hat 4.2) fails.
have anyone have the same problem?
Doesn't new kernel help?

Thanks..
