Milo woes.

I got a SX164 (AlphaBIOS) with a tekram DC-309U controller and a
Quantum Viking disk . And when i try to boot this with the
milo-sx164-980324 from gatekeeper.dec.com . Milo hangs after printing
out the id of the disk and the speed of the SCSI bus.

But if i power up the disk after milo has initialized the SCSI bus
(yeah i know, it is a ugly hack), and boot a kernel that uses the
ncr53c8xx - revision 2.5f.1 driver. The whole thing works like a
charm.

So i built a 2.0.30 kernel with the ncr 2.5 driver. Got the
milo-sources-2.0.30-0.4.tgz from gatekeeper.dec.com . And built a milo
against the 2.0.30 kernel. I used the default setings for every
question in the milo config.

The 2.0.30 kernel works, but when i try to boot with my milo, i get as
far as "switching to PALCODE" and then nothing happens.

So what might i have overlooked?
