Yes, I do have a modem on Com 1, but it had functioned correctly up to that
point. I finally decided that the problem had to be originating within the
parameters passed to milo by ARCNT. I couldn't find anything wrong in the boot
menu setup, but I did specifically set the autoboot selection to no. That cured
the problem. I hadn't been in that menu before, but it would appear that the
flag had inadvertanly been switched to yes. It hadn't changed the other boot
choices, and only affected the floppy boot option when the letter "a" was
typed. I don't understand at all, but it did cure the problem. Strange.
