arithmetic trap

hi,
i have a problem with the quake2 server running on my RedHat 5.2
AlphaPC164. After a certain time the server crashes with:

q2ded: arithmetic trap at 0000015555cacfe8: 02 0000000200000000

Afaik this is a kernel message. 
The box runns 2.0.34 because 2.0.35 is very unstable on this machine.

PS: Hardware:
AlphaPC 164
128MB Ram (128 bit, not 256)
S3 VGA, 3Com 905 Network card, Adaptec 2940UW SCSI
Sound Blaster ISA Card
