Hi All,
I recently got a 'bargain-bucket' 166MHz UDB from cpumicromart, which I
installed RH5.2 on. I tried rebuilding the kernel (both 2.0.35 and 2.0.36)
with modules rather than monolithic and all went well apart from the nfs
module which complains about ... "unresolved symbol __kernel_thread".
Anyone got nfs working as a module ?
Not impressed with the 8 bit TGA card I put a 4MB Virge DX into the spare
PCI slot. It works great in 8bpp, but locks the machine solid when after a
random period of time when X is started in 16bpp. This happens with both
the SVGA and SV3 servers. Since then I swapped in an old 2MB S3 Diamond
Stealth 64 DRAM I had lying around and switched to the S3 server. No
problems in either 8bpp or 16bpp. I'd still like to get the Virge working
though. (BTW, I tried the obvious things like 'fifo_moderate'). Any
suggestions ?
Thanks
Clive
