To quote the MySQL Manual:
"Note that Alpha-Linux is still an alpha platform for *MySQL*. With
RedHat 5.0 and the patched linuxthreads you have a very good chance
of it working."
I wasn't trying to tick the coders off -- I was agreeing with them.
By their own admission, it's not Beta quality yet. It's not a criticism
of MySQL. It's a *solid* piece of code on x86 boxes; that's why I wanted
to be able to use it on the alpha....
