I have a very similar problem with the X-server shutting down
unexpectedly, usually it happens several times a day. This problem is
100% reproducible on my machine when viewing pg. 43 of the Gimp User's
Manual 1.0 with xpdf. I have tried the bleeding edge
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.2.3-20 and the problem is still there.
My hardware configuration is
PC164, Matrox 4mb card.
Can anyone else reproduce this X-server shutdown? I have left the xpdf
and Gimp user's manual at ftp://rnaworld.princeton.edu/pub.
Thanks,
Tim
