remote dump: please help

Hello all,

I am having this problem for a long time. Each time I try to make a
remorte dump inside a firewall (the tape streamer is also inside the
firewall) I get the following error message:

DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Sep 3 18:50:21 1998
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
  DUMP: Dumping /dev/hda1 (/) to /dev/nst0 on host root@remote-machine
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
  DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 32006 tape blocks on 0.01 tape(s).
DUMP: Protocol to remote tape server botched (code "bash: rmt: command
not found").
rdump: Lost connection to remote host.
DUMP: Bad return code from dump: 1

I gave the proper permissions to .rhost in the remote-machine. It is
working fine.

what means?

DUMP: Protocol to remote tape server botched (code "bash: rmt: command
not found").

is rmt is not found in the machine I want to backup?

any suggestions would be appreciated,

cheers

Miguel
