no NRC53810 in SRM

Yet another SRM Promlem:

I installed an ASUS SC200 SCSI card to have SRM support (since SRM does
not support my 2940). The Problem is that i do not see anything that looks
like SCSI. "show device" only reports an PCI-IDE controller and a floppy
disk (DVA0, DQA0).
"show config" reports a "53C810 SCSi Controller" in PCI slot 0X.

What do i have to do to make a bootable SCSI device with SRM ?
The image is pc164srm.rom from
ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/Digital/Alpha/firmware/readmes/v5.2/alphapc164/

My Hardware is a PC164.
The SC200 is jumpered to use "INT A" PCI IRQ.

The ARC Fireware does recognice the NCR controller. But that is no use for
me.

best regards and thanks in advance,
