Howdy, all.
Just wanted to let everyone know that there's several pre-compiled
alpha.rpm's (and srpms) at ftp://rpm@prophet.dodds.net/.
I'm not trying to replace anything, or mirror anyone else. I just
noticed that I have ~170MB worth of pre-compiled rpms sitting around, many
of which are not to be found elsewhere for the alpha, some of which won't
compile w/o patching on pca56 machines (because of a bug in automake, for
which I have sent in a patch). Since they're here anyway, I thought I'd
open it up to the general public to do with as you will. I upload some
stuff to redhat's contrib area, but more often than not I just can't log
in.
User is 'rpm'; it's an anonymous account, so your email addy is
the password. Chances are the latest gnome release can be found here (I
always keep that up), along with several older releases, and many releases
of just about everything.
I keep up-to-date with releases of gnome and e, because I happen
to be fond of 'em. Beyond that, it's your luck.

PS: This is at Iowa State, on a T3. And it's my own machine, so as likely
to be rebooting to a new kernel as being up.
