I've replaced gcc with a symlink to egcs, and I add -mcpu=21164 (for my
21164sx) to the cflags of almost everything I compile.
What is the advantage of egcs over normal gcc, and how does the -mcpu=21164
change the way things are compiled?
I'm not a 'coder' but I do use my alpha a lot, and anything to make it run
better is a good thing.
