Hello, Maciej!
Sorry for such a late response, but I have tried your latest aboot
patches. Under glibc-2.0.7 and egcs-1.0.3 (on RedHat-5.1) it produces an
aboot which can boot my 2.0 kernel, but possibly not my 2.1 kernel. I am
not certain of this; my 2.1 kernel definitely doesn't boot, but I'm not
sure whether aboot is to blame. aboot seems to complete without visible
error, but then the screen goes out of wack (hard slant and blurred) and
the system is apparently hung. The kernel is 2.1.121 with TGA framebuffer
support, and I'm trying to boot on an AlphaStation 200 w/DEC 21030 ZLXp-E2
option. The question I have for you is "should compiling the aboot with
2.0 kernel includes produce an aboot which is still capable of booting a
2.1 kernel?". And the question I have for other list-members is "Has
anyone successfully booted 2.1.121 on an Avanti box with TGA framebuffer?
How about using SRM?". Thanks.
