In other words, perhaps Deskstation is supporting Linux badly
simply because their current contract with Samsung contemplates
only NT support, and if this is the case, the bad Linux support is not
totally their fault (we all know, business is business), and 
it is Samsung that should be pressurized.

I contacted both Deskstation and Samsung about my problem.
Both answered as they were independent.  Deskstation gave
me quickly the strange solution of putting everything in
the first GB of the disk, and could not give me further details.
Samsung asked for details a few days ago, and I did not hear
anything from them since then (yesterday I sent to both of them the
summary I posted in axp-list).
