Known problem for the SX.
Look at my Linux-Alpha pages at
http://www.unix-ag.org/Linux-Alpha/
in the architectures SX164 section. You will find a diff there which can be
cleanly applied to 2.1.120 through .123 and will resolve your boot problem.
You should also _disable_ RTC support in kernel to avoid other interrupt
problems.
