Using your NT or Win95, start a dos session and on your RedHat CD is a
directory called dosutils. In it is the utility to create your avanti disk
and your ramdisk (rawrite.exe). Your Milo disk can be created by formatting
a disk under Win95 machine and copying milo and linload.exe from your cd
images directory or by getting it from DEC's site.

Hi,

sorry if i might sound stupid, but i do not know how to make a boot floppy
with milo
and linload.exe ...... which means i am not able to install my redhat linux.

What do i know so far ..

a) i know i have to make 3 floppys one with milo on it, one with avanti.img
   and one ramdisk.img

b) i found the milo file on the ftpsite of digital and downloaded the
milo.dd
   file for my AS200 4/233

c) i found the the avanti.img file and the ramdisk.img file on my redhat cd

What i dont know !!!

a) how do i make the milo boot floppy so i can boot from my arc into milo ??
   i have only access to win nt and win 95 pc and some bsdi on intel to
create this
   disk.

b) how do i make the avanti.img and ramdisk.img ?? Do i just copy them to a
3.5
   dos formatted floppy ???

c) do i have to look out for something else ??

hope somebody will point me in the right directions. all docs i found asume
that you know how linux on alpha works which i dont know.....
