Correct termination (page 25 in your AXPpci-handbook)? Bad cable? Cable
connected the right way round (there are some cables without key on the plugs)?
I have the same board and used 2.2.7, 2.2.14pre6, 2.3.10 and now 2.3.30pre3.
Never had any scsi problems (7 devices connected).
