rpm error

Hi dose anyone know this error and howto fix it
I always  get this error when i try to install .rpm files like
rpm -ivh samba-2.0.5a-1.alpha.rpm
error gettting record libnsl.so.1.1 from //var/lib/rpm/providesindex.rpm
error gettting record libnsl.so.1.1 from //var/lib/rpm/nameindex.rpm

I tryed to look for the providesindex and nameindex but didnt find it any id
?
