On my 164LX I get the following, I could probably do better if I tweaked
things a little but this is a secondary disc, we use UW-SCSI for the main
drive.
[root@ancora /root]# /sbin/hdparm /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
multcount = 0 (off)
I/O support = 0 (default 16-bit)
unmaskirq = 0 (off)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
nowerr = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 8 (on)
geometry = 39709/16/63, sectors = 40026672, start = 0
[root@ancora /root]# /sbin/hdparm -Tt /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 64 MB in 0.53 seconds =120.54 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 32 MB in 2.97 seconds =10.78 MB/sec
Does look a bit better than your SX is it has to be said.
