Which board is that and which version of binutils you are using?
This is from my running machine:
Linux version 2.2.14pre11 (root@thebox.home.front) (gcc version 2.95.2
19991024 (release)) #4 Sun Dec 5 18:13:33 MST 1999
Booting GENERIC on EB64+ variation EB64+ using machine vector EB64+ from
MILO
I also have 2.2.14pre12, also compiled with gcc 2.95.2, running on UX
(not on-line at this moment). I also compiled with this compiler
a number of other kernels - including SMP for UP2000 - and I am not
aware of any problems. UP2000 boots from SRM - BTW.
