alpha doesn't boot on 2.3.29/2.3.31

Hi,

I just tried out linux 2.3.x on my Alpha (Avanti platform).
The previous version (2.2.13) works fine, but 2.3.29 and 2.3.31
(the ones I tested), hang at boot time.

The last messages are from milo "...enabling virtual memory and
jumping to the linux kernel" and then that was it....

Do I need to upgrade something else (milo) or is it a bug?
