Yes. I did it for my AXPpci33.

You need to build a cross-compiler first.

I don't know whether it is still needed on recent gcc but I had to patch gcc
a little to use long long variables to handle 64 Bit values. It couldn't
emit a particular asm-instruction otherwise IIRC.
