installation problems RH6.1

Dear all,

  I'm trying to install redhat 6.1 on an 164UX board. I did the copy of
the disk and edit the setup according to what redhat manual says. I made
the copy from an intel box. But I cannot start since at the boot I have
error message complaining that it doesn't find ....\liload.exe

  So I have tried to copy the disk from the alpha but when I do 
dd if=ruffian of=/dev/fd0 I receive a bunch of 
floppy 0: probe failed while the led turn on and things looks OK. So how
can I check if my floppy is dead? Is the floppy not accessed by /dev/fd0?
I already have a RH5.2 installed on this machine but I have to reinitalize
anything. I have thus a small partition of 5Mb with the previous milo
loader can i dd the contents of the floppy on this partition and start
from there. I guess I'll be stuck with the next step.
