I have a DEC Tulip in my PC164 and it works great. Note that it's an
actual DEC-branded Tulip... most of the companies that made cards based on
that chipset have since switched to clones of the chipset. If you look at
the list of compatible cards on the Linux DEC Tulip driver card

	http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/tulip.html

and then at the list of cards available on pricewatch, you'll see that
many of the currently available cards from companies that used to use the
Tulip chispet have a model number one or two higher than that listed on
the Linux page. These cards are using (I *think*) clones of the chipset.
The clones might work under SRM, but I don't really know. You may have to
dig around, perhaps on eBay, and find a card that uses the original
chipset, or is even a pull from an Alpha.
I don't think the PC164 SRM supports cards that are not based on
the Tulip chipset. But judging from the name of your NIC, it should be
based on this chipset, so.... I'm not sure. Perhaps the card has the
right chipset but returns a different PCI vendor ID, so SRM doesn't know
it can talk to it?

For hardcore info on SRM, you canask the Tru64 mailing list. I received
some good help from them when setting up my PC164. The mailing list is

	tru64-unix-managers@ornl.gov

You might look in the archives or read the List Info & Rules at

	http://www.ornl.gov/its/archives/mailing-lists/

before posting. Questions that have already been answered or which are
documented in an easy to find place seem to be frowned on.

In general, these PC164 boards are a pain because they were meant to show
OEM's how to make their own (there are postscript files of the silkscreens
and other fabrication info on Digital's site!) not really to be used by
end users. But they can be gotten working.
