The AlphaStation 500 should work fine, as should the AS2100.  One question
tho' - is it really an AS2100 or is it an AS2100a?  You can tell by the
fact that the 2100 has 3 PCI slots and the 2100A has 6.  The AS2100 works
under Linux, the 2100A doesn't (yet).  I'm debating trying to find one
floating around here to try adding the support in, but I think my plate is
already overflowing. :)

Performance is a relative thing ;)  What I will tell you for certain is
that Linux screams on Alpha.  (Wait...I think that's our new catch
phrase...)
