First: unless you need to install or boot through bootp, it doesn't matter
that SRM doesn't recognize the card, as long as your kernel does. I used
3Com 509 and 905, which still worked fine after upgrading to SRM.
Second: if you plan to run Tru64 UNIX, or VMS, you _will_ need a card that
is recognized. I got the DE500-BA, which is OK, and it also uses the 143
chip !
Third: Anyone wants to buy a 3Com 509 (isa, 10mb) or 905 (pci, 100mb) NIC ?
